Boys were boys at Moschino for Fall/Winter 2011--in fact, it was hard to tell if one was looking at a runway or a Rugby pitch as unusually buff model after model materialized at runway's ends, rubgy ball resting in his huge hand, socks appearing slightly grass stained and even one or two of the boys sported a wristpiece which resembled a cast. A few of them were even grinning.
The show also had a collegiate theme, which seems to be emerging as a major trend of the week. There were healthy helpings of orange (here worked into striped schoolboy blazers and sporty puffas) and rugby shirts glammed up to wear on and off the pitch. There was also the odd geek chic and biker look, tossed in as if almost to represent the spectrum of the boy as a young man. That is to say, a team of jocks walking proud in their sports attire through the halls of school, but they walk amongst a slew of other personalities, including the recluse and the rebel. Whatever the narrative at the center of this collection, I know one thing for sure, I'd definitely go back to school with the Moschino boys!
