Beauty Trend: Autumn/Winter 2011-12 Metal Heads

THERE was a metallic mood in Paris as far as beauty was concerned. Chanel's boyish biker collection was given a touch of feminine rock-and-roll with shimmering silver eyes and liquid metal grey nails care of their in-house creative director of make-up, the inimitable Peter Philips. Later in the day, make-up artist Pat McGrath gave the eyes at Valentino a glimmering treatment by co-ordinating an iridescent blush on the eyes with the colour of the nude chiffon clothes. The true silver statement, however, was made at Alexander McQueen, where the girls were given metallic skull caps care of Guido Palau and his team who loaded up on the metal slides covering the entire head. Iron maidens, indeed.
